Illegal pot grow busted

Published: September 11, 2014; Last modified: September 11, 2014 11:30PM

WESTCLIFFE -- A total of 300 plants and 5 pounds of marijuana were seized from an illegal marijuana operation Aug. 30 resulting in two arrests.

According to The Wet Mountain Tribune, the grow was found in the basement of a home on Calcite Court in the Shadow Ridge subdivision. Authorities said the home was rented by Joseph Baldwin, 31, and Ryan Hirschberg, 23, both of whom are being investigated for illegal cultivation of marijuana charges, because the amount exceeded the Colorado allowed limit of six plants and 1 ounce of marijuana per adult.

Both men are free on $7,000 bonds.
