VP NEWS -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Responsible for the vision, strategies, and tactical adjustments for news content on-air, on our digital channels/apps & on social. Oversee daily editorial content of the newscasts plus digital & social channels. Hire, supervise, evaluate and train News Department personnel according to company policy. Set and oversee the editorial and ethical standards in the newsroom. Stay current with all news related trends on broadcast and digital. Oversee long term and special coverage of events and issues for the News Department. Demonstrate knowledge of current local, national and international events and issues. Remain aware of issues affecting the community. Develop and monitor budgets for News Department. Ensure budgetary compliance. Recruit for open positions. Work with VP/Creative Services to help grow ratings and digital metrics. Manage news department workload; develop original local type programming as needed. Communicate to VP/General Manager of any department, on-air or personnel problems. Provide General Manager with monthly News information for the GM report schedule and conduct news department meetings at least once per calendar quarter. A minimum of five years' experience in leading a news team is required, in a top 50 market. College degree in communications/journalism or related field preferred. EDITOR VIDEO/TAPE -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Maintain daily content of non-linear edit system as needed. Responsible for daily editing (cutting and labeling) and working with current, state-of-the-art equipment in a digital format. Must be able to use both hands to operate the equipment. Responsible for meeting constant daily news deadlines. Respond quickly to the producers' requests for show and video requirements for the broadcast. Based on the producer's needs and established guidelines, use judgment to pick the best video for the story. Demonstrate competency with video editing equipment and have proficient computer skills. Must use hands to operate the equipment and keyboard. Work with Producers and/or Executive Producers as they review all stories. Work effectively with news management and newsroom personnel to develop content and production of newscasts. Maintain open communication with News Director and all station personnel to efficiently, respectfully and professionally complete news assignments with efficiency and quality. Regularly receive and distribute information and instructions -- via telephone, headset, email and memo, to station personnel or production team in a live news environment. Stay abreast of new techniques and video products. Contribute story ideas. Qualifications: Experience as an editor or photographer in a television news department is preferred. College degree or one year equivalent experience in the broadcast industry. Experience with non-linear editing technology, AVID News Cutter, and AVID Media Manager. SENIOR PRODUCER -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Manage the editorial content, staff for assigned newscasts and web site and social media platforms. Supervises the activities of the weekend news staff according to company policy and guidelines. This person must work independently, effectively and with minimal oversight from management to communicate goals and assignment to newscast team. Exercise discretion. Assume leadership role in the newsroom; serve as a gatekeeper through story selection and copyediting; have active and informed participation in news planning and development. Exercise discretion, judgement and solid journalistic/ethical decision making by selecting, creating and producing stories/newscasts that are clear, meaningful, accurate, fair and creative. Coach news producers to ensure newscasts in terms of writing, visualization and impact. Give instruction in best writing and production techniques. MANAGING EDITOR -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Manage daily news coverage and operation of the assignment desk to include the following duties: Develop and implement strategies for effective, efficient and smooth operation of the assignment desk to ensure maximum news production and most efficient use of resources. Work with reporters and crews to maximize news coverage of daily news events. Attend editorial meetings. Monitor scanners for breaking news. Assign news crews and equipment to cover stories. Gather meaningful news information from available sources for newscasts. Work closely with other news managers and producers in executing daily and future story coverage. Lead and supervise assignment editors and set goals to ensure strategic coverage goals and objectives are met. Lead and oversee training for assignment editors and help design systems to make sure local content goals are met. Drive digital media content through the assignment desk by identifying streaming sources and potential digital stories. Work closely with the digital team. Oversee daily planning functions to ensure consistent news coverage of continuing stories and sharing of resources among newscasts. Plan coverage of special events, such as the Daytona 500, sports championships, parades, etc. Supervise assignment planners to develop and execute strategies for future news stories, projects and newscasts. Ensure follow-up stories and assignments are pursued. College/University degree in broadcast journalism or other related field. A minimum of three years' experience on a TV news assignment desk preferred. Working knowledge of newsroom computers, the Internet and computer-assisted reporting. CLICK HERE TO APPLY

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Provide original news content for WOFL, WOGX, and various social media platforms by successfully accomplishing the following: gather news information including; conducting live and taped interviews; write stories and deliver news reports on-air, on-line and other media platforms. These platforms require the Reporter/MMJ to shoot and edit video and present material in an engaging manner. Must contribute to social media efforts; initiate research, and enterprise stories. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, have outstanding time management skills and complete required assignments on deadline. Strong working knowledge of technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools and non-linear editing such as AVID. A 4-year college degree is required with emphasis in Communications or Journalism and a minimum of three years' experience preferred. PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN -- (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Working knowledge of AM, PM News and other show formats Receive and implement directives from Director over headset. Communicate clearly and coherently in person and on headset. Anticipate the needs of the director. Ensure talent and guests microphones have charged batteries, that microphones are on proper frequency, turned on properly and have corresponding IFB's (when applicable). Conduct proper studio microphone and live-remote audio checks prior to air and inform director immediately if any source is not suitable for air. Ensure talent is on the set, miked and informed of the cues in use. Prior to air, verify that all studio equipment is working properly. Ensure all RTS panels are labeled correctly with proper studio or remote talent prior to live or taped broadcasts. Update music request playlists on a daily basis with music requested from executive producers. Know camera-blocking positions for newscasts. Ensure camera shots are in focus and framed according to camera directives from Director. Create creative bump shots along with standard formatted shots. Change batteries in microphones and IFB's when necessary. Leave studio clean, orderly and safe at the end of the newscast or production taping. Be familiar with Sony ELC coding and show execution to fill in as needed. Make minor repairs to IFB's, microphones, monitors and audio board as needed. Operate prompter when talent is unable to do so as assigned. Understand basics of lighting panel. Maintain audio booth, prop room, cameras and prompters. Interact effectively and professionally with talent, producers and crew. Ability to operate a broad range of production equipment.
