Vera Bjornson, a widely known and loved music teacher and selfless wife, mom, and Amma passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 76 years.
Vera will be deeply missed and treasured by her proud family: husband Steve; children, Loren (Sheldon) Gurr, Corey (Larissa) Bjornson, Karyn Bjornson, Daryl (Yvonne) Bjornson; grandchildren, Mason (Lauren), Nash, Ella, Julianna, Naomi, Theo, Mykenna, Breelyn, and Prestley; siblings, Morris (Barb) Drummond, Dave (Janice) Drummond; sisters-in-law, Debbie Drummond, Brenda Tosh, Corinne Torgerson; brother-in-law John (Lorene) Bjornson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The communities of Glenboro and Holland, and the whole provincial music community share in their grief.
A Celebration of Vera's Life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the Glenboro Kinsmen Community Hall. A private family interment will take place at the Glenboro Cemetery.
Donations would be gratefully received in Vera's memory by The Glenboro Area Foundation, Box 147, Glenboro, MB R0K 0X0, designated to the soon to be established "Vera Bjornson Music Scholarship".
