Method Man of Wu-Tang Clan performs during Kaaboo 2019 at the Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, in San Diego, Calif. The Wu-Tang Clan will perform "Enter the Wu-Tang: (36 Chambers)" in its entirety at Desert Daze at Lake Perris State Recreation Area on Sunday, Oct. 13. (Photo by Amy Harris/Invision/AP)

Desert Daze has always brought together some of the most eclectic lineups over its eight years, but the top of this year's festival bill reads like a "Most influential albums of the '90s" list from an indie music blog.

Moreno Beach at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area will be the home of this cool kids lineup, with the The Flaming Lips doing "The Soft Bulletin" on Friday; Ween bringing out the classic "Chocolate and Cheese" on Saturday; and the Wu-Tang Clan bringing da ruckus with "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" on Sunday.

"It's three records, I don't care who you are, you have them in your collection," festival founder Phil Pirrone said in a telephone interview earlier this week.

And there's so much more, including the beginning of the end for Devo. Here's a look at those full album sets and a handful of some of the other acts you won't want to miss this weekend, listed in chronological order.

Friday, Oct. 11

Fred Armisen

3:15-4:15 p.m., The Theatre

The actor, comedian and drummer brings his "Comedy for Musicians but Everyone is Welcome" show to the redesigned Theatre tent at the fest.

Stereolab

6:35-8:05 p.m., The Moon stage

The British and French indie-pop band is back on the road for the first time in a decade and this should be a perfect set to usher in opening night with its pleasant blips, beeps and bloops.

The Flaming Lips

11:30 p.m.-1 a.m., The Moon stage

Desert Daze is the only festival getting the band's 20th anniversary show for "The Soft Bulletin" and it's pretty fitting, considering that the band is very much a role model for a good chunk of the lineup.

"We all look up to the Flaming Lips. They're like the older brothers who don't think they're too good for anybody," Pirrone said.

Saturday, Oct. 12

Trupa Trupa

1:30-2:10 p.m., The Moon stage

Desert Daze is known for bringing in international acts you rarely get a chance to see in the U.S. Get to the fest early on Saturday for this post-punk band from Poland.Devo, with singer Mark Mothersbaugh, shown here performing with the band in Highland in 2011, will perform at Desert Daze on Saturday, Oct. 12. The show is being dubbed "The Beginning of the End" for the band. (File photo by Terry Pierson, The Press-Enterprise)

Devo

6:15-7:45 p.m., The Moon stage

Desert Daze has had some of the most iconic and influential godfathers of indie music on the lineups over the years (see: Television in 2016, Iggy Pop in 2017) and so landing Devo is quite a feather in the festival's flowerpot hat.

It's being dubbed as the kickoff of "The Beginning of the End" for the band. So if this is one of the last chances you have to see classics like "Girl U Want" and "Uncontrollable Urge," you better whip up a ticket, whip it good.

Ween

8:35-10:35 p.m., The Moon stage

Dean and Gene Ween released the eclectic masterpiece "Chocolate and Cheese" in 1994, at a time when experimental alternative rock was being released by major record labels.

Sunday, Oct. 13

Alvvays

4:30-5:30 p.m., The Moon stage

When the Canadian indie-pop band takes the stage on the final day of the festival, pause for a moment and take a look around Moreno Beach.

"Alvvays is going to play right as the day is turning into golden hour...The mountains are going to look unreal," Pirrone said.

Khruangbin

9-10:15 p.m., The Moon stage

Love psychedelic rock? Don't miss this trio from Houston, Texas, that was one of the breakout sets at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this year.

Wu-Tang Clan

11:35 p.m.-12:50 a.m.

The 1993 debut from the group not only introduced the world to the RZA, the GZA, Method Man, Redman and the whole Wu-Tang Clan, but it still tops all-time album lists decades later. Hearing the album that houses "Bring Da Ruckus," "C.R.E.A.M.," "Method Man" and "Protect Ya Neck" plus some classics with unprintable titles, is a pretty epic way to close things down for the fest.

"We never in a million years thought we would have all of these iconic album plays," Pirrone said.

There are a ton of other worthy acts all over the bill, including Animal Collective, Flying Lotus (doing his 3-D show), Temples, Parquet Courts and more. And pro tip: Pirrone recommended downloading the festival's app (and activating wi-fi text and calling to communicate during the show) to get the latest updates to sets, gate wait times and more.
