THE ACREAGE (CBS12) - Tensions remain high for election workers and candidates after a recent arrest at an early voting site in Palm Beach County.
Nicholas Farley, 30, of West Palm Beach, was taken into custody on Sunday and is facing charges related to voter intimidation. Farley remains in detention and is accused of yelling racial slurs and driving recklessly near early voters outside The Acreage Branch Library in Loxahatchee.
Lily Loudon, a volunteer for Republican candidate Meg Weinberger, experienced the encounter on Thursday.
"He (Farley) just yelled angrily at me. He just shouted a lot of antisemitic slurs. I'm assuming because of Meg Weinberger," Loudon said.
"The part that was scary wasn't the verbal so much as when he came back and when he was driving threateningly and I was worried that he may be armed," Loudon added.
In an interview with detectives, Farley admitted that seeing Weinberger's campaign posters triggered his outburst of antisemitic remarks.

"Absolutely it's very scary we're dealing with this. It's just no way to live, and maybe he opens his eyes and realizes that we're just all people doesn't matter your religion or skin color," Weinberger said.
The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office is reviewing the case.
"We were able to get Judge (Paul) Damico to issue a $100,000 bond per count, which is kind of unheard of in a second-degree felony," said Assistant State Attorney Freddie Menard.
She also commented on the Hate Crime Enhancement charge.
"The Hate Crime statute 775.085 is an enhancement," Menard explained. "The special enhancement is called 'evidence of prejudice while committing.' So that's what makes it a Hate Crime and what that does, it bumps it up a level in the classification of the crime."
Menard oversees a Hate Crimes Task Force, which aims to raise awareness about the rise in illegal acts of prejudice in the community while offering support for the victims.
"These are very serious crimes especially when you coupled it with things like voter intimidation. That's something that our county particularly takes very seriously," Menard said.
The State Attorney's Office is urging the community to report any suspicious or illegal activity related to voter intimidation, threats, or harassment to ensure a safe and fair voting process.
"Under-reporting really hurts us as a community, because it allows these people who are committing crimes against people unnecessarily without any justification to continue to do so under disguise," Menard said.
