By Annie Vainshtein, ReporterUpdated Nov 15, 2024 12:17 p.m.
Police said they seized drugs and cash during a narcotics arrest in San Francisco. San Francisco Police Department
A man suspected of dealing drugs in San Francisco's Tenderloin was arrested in possession of more than 730 grams of drugs at his home in Oakland, police said.
San Francisco police said they worked with the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Army National Guard to conduct an investigation of a "known narcotics trafficker" in the Tenderloin, identified as Kerlin Salgado-Ferrera.
Salgado-Ferrera was arrested Wednesday, after officers spotted him driving in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood and briefly pursued him on foot, officials said. He was placed under arrest for narcotics trafficking after officers noted he was in possession of narcotics and items related to drug dealing, they said.

The use of drones was critical in the investigation, officials said.
After serving a search warrant at his house on the 10000 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland, officers said they seized 68.1 grams of fentanyl, 101.6 grams of methamphetamine, 237.2 grams of cocaine, 82.4 grams of suspected fentanyl pills and 5.4 grams of heroin.
More than $6,000 in cash was also seized.
Salgado-Ferrera was booked into San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of sale or transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a cocaine base for sale, operating or maintaining a drug house, possession of methamphetamine for sale and probation violation.
